Wake Wood

Kinda like Pet Cemetery only with a daughter, who comes back evil. I do love my evil children films.

It's a very low budget affair but has enough thrills and gore to keep you satisfied. There's also some rather confronting un-horror related stuff to do with cows that seemed very realistic, a cesarean birth being one of them. Whoa.

The cast do a fine job. It took me a while to realise I knew Aidan Gillen from Game of Thrones. Timothy Spall is great as always. They create a typical small creepy village with dark secrets. Of course the new arrivals discover the dark secrets and want in, but fail to properly follow the rules, resulting in some fun mayhem.

It's the latest release from the updated Hammer Horror company and it's a welcome little addition. Nothing particularly spectacular but still enjoyable.
