Zombie Holocaust

Funny stuff. One of many Italian horror films from the 70's and 80's done in english and with such delight in gore. This one has the added ickyness of medical procedures as well as the usual cannibalism and zombies.

That trailer basically give you the entire film, it's all you need to know. I love in both the trailer AND the film the little musical sting they use overtime there is a close up of the symbol of Keeto or whatever their deity is. Super cheesy, like the rest of the film. You can even see that hilarious shot in the trailer of the dummy falling out the window and landing on the ground with its arm accidentally popping out of its socket. In the film the next shot is a close up of the body and his arm is still attached.

Most of the other gags are more successful than that though. I particularly love the outboard propellor blade to the face. And the removal of the top of the reporters skull to expose her brain, for a brain transplant. They make it look so easy to cut into flesh and bone like that. Like cutting a steak.

Needless to say it's not the greatest film, but it's enjoyable for what it is. Shlocky gore-filled zombi cannibal fun times.
